James 1:2: “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials.”
Devo in a nutshell:
Throughout Scripture we read time and time again of victory through troubles and suffering.
Helmut Thielicke, a German pastor and theologian, said this: “when we are rightly related to God, life is full of joyful uncertainty and expectancy….we do not know what God is going to do next; He packs our lives with surprises all the time. What a strange idea, “joyful uncertain.” Most of us view uncertainty as a cause for anxiety, not joy. Yet the call to expectancy rings true. The idea of standing on tiptoe to see what God is going to do next can transform our way of seeing.”
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if each morning we jumped out of bed, stood on tiptoes to see what God was going to do next!! Instead of worrying about what may or may not happen next.
When we see life like that, our cup will surely run over and life will be joyful!
Lord help me to look at life from Your perspective and to see You at work in all things.
Have a great day in the Lord.
